race #7 - keystone raceway park
This was our 3rd and final visit to Keystone Raceway Park in 2016...We always say there is no place like home but taking the show on the road to KRP was awesome!! Greg Miller and his staff do a killer job, they were so welcoming of the series and excited to have us joining them this season. Not only Greg and the crew but the racers of KRP greeted us with open arms and a handful of them even took a shot at racing with us and did VERY well!!! Oh and the view from the hill...Unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy much of it but for the racers of the RRA it was cool to be pitted together and have the best seats in the house to watch the action go down!!
We pushed the day as hard as we could and came out victorious!!! What began as a bright sunny day ended with a insane monsoon overtaking the track before we could even get all of the cars through the Winner's Circle!! We were counting our blessing and thanking Mother Nature for allowing us to complete the program before she showered us with love...lol
Greg Miller...Thank you again for giving the RRA the opportunity to race at KRP in 2016!!

Eric Tuuri (#1 in points) and John Sahli (#2 in points) were matched up in the semi-finals and it this would become the crucial tipping point in the Summit Racing Equipment Championship Chase...John had to take Eric down to hang on to a shot at the title but it just wasn't meant to be. Eric Tuuri was lethal off the line in both the semi-finals and the finals and he would make Renegade History on that day.
1st Racer in Renegade History to win 5 events within a Season and not only that but he locked the Title up with 2 races to spare!!! Congrats to your 2016 Summit Racing Equipment 8.90 Index Champion!!

Alex Brown is a Rookie to the RRA who has been doing a stellar job of making his presence known to the veteran racers of the 2 FAST Garage 9.90 Index Class. At Race #7 he would snag the #1 Qualifying Spot and take it all the way to the rain soaked Winner's Circle!! For his 1st ever Renegade win, but by the looks of his rookie season to day I doubt it will be his last!!
CONGRATS to ALEX BROWN and CREW!!!

Chad Coughanour once again joined in on the 10.50 action!! Semi-finals EVERY time!! If he wasn't so busy winning the Points Championship at Keystone I think we would have seen him being a bigger player in the 2016 Summit Racing Equipment 10.50 Index Championship!!
Scott Fury was killing the tree with a competitor in the other lane, .001 in the semi's and a PERFECT LIGHT in the finals rounded out with a 10.506 pass to take the win!! He was solidly in 2nd place and beginning to gain ground on Mike Carroll's lead!

Billy Kennelley spent the last couple of years playing crew chief to big brother Brian Kennelley but this year he stepped up to the plate as a Rookie driver in our 11.50 Index Class...Billy made his way to the finals to face points leader Tim McKenzie, he killed the tree with a .005 light but he and Tim must have been playing chicken at the finish line to decide who was gonna let out 1st. The double break out round win would go to Billy and Race #7 would be his 1st Renegade win!!
